When can I start using the Snap CozyTM for my baby?
Most parents prefer to use Snap Cozy once baby is done with the swaddling phase and ready for the crib. We have found that the Snap CozyTM tuck in process actually becomes a bedtime routine that signals to your baby it's time to sleep, so it can actually be used as a sleep association tool. The earlier you begin using it, the better!
What keeps the blanket on my baby?
Two durability-tested snaps are located on each side. These are used to secure the top blanket layer with the bottom blanket layer. Once snapped, the blanket stays put.
Won't my active baby be able to slide himself out of the blanket?
Snap Cozy is meant to be used when it's sleep time, when baby is drowsy and ready for bed. If your baby is in a complete wakeful state and is strong enough to slide himself up and out of the blanket, he might be able to do so! When he is ready to go to sleep, simply tuck him back in. You need not worry about your baby sliding under the blanket: a safety seam is provided on the foot end of the blanket to prevent baby from having his head covered.
Will my baby sleep longer when using a Snap CozyTM?
Many parents find that their babies do sleep for longer periods when using Snap Cozy. Babies feel comfortably snug and are more likely to stay in the supine sleep position. Although back sleep position is recommended, some babies will turn on their sides if that is how they prefer to sleep. Snap Cozy will not restrain or constrict baby's movement from back to side, nor is it meant to.
Can I use a "sleep wedge positioner" with Snap CozyTM?
Yes, actually the blanket will help keep the sleep positioner in place.
Is the Snap CozyTM difficult to put onto the crib?
Not at all. Simply use the ties to secure the blanket to your crib, kind of like a bumper pad. Note: If desired, a bumper pad may be used with the Snap CozyTM blanket.
Is Snap CozyTM difficult to wash?
No. It takes approximately 30 seconds to untie the blanket. Then just toss it in the washer, then dryer. It only takes about 30-60 seconds to fasten back onto your crib.
It is a hassle to use the snaps each time I put my baby to bed?
No. Actually, you'll only need to use the snaps on the side of the blanket that the baby is placed in the crib. The snaps on the opposite (or wall) side don't even need to be unsnapped.!
Can a newborn use Snap CozyTM?
Yes, the top blanket is adjustable so that a small baby, including a premature baby, can benefit from using Snap CozyTM.
Can I use the Snap CozyTM while sleep training?
Yes, but as with any sleep training method, do check on your baby periodically to make sure they're okay. We have found that there is sleep association with the Snap CozyTM tuck in process which can actually help in sleep training. It is never recommended to use the Snap CozyTM blanket as a restraint or means to keep baby confined.
